Garda Trentino Foil Days 2026
One-hour regatta with 128 participants
From June 18 to 21, the “Garda Trentino Foil Days” took place in Torbole on Lake Garda. At this water sports event, held on and in front of the Circolo Surf Torbole grounds, almost everything revolved around foiling with windsurf sails and wings. In addition to the Expo Village, which featured equipment presentations by many manufacturers, the regatta program took center stage.
Instead of having wing foilers and windsurfers on fins and foils start separately, everyone was sent out onto the regatta course together. The race was a one-hour regatta in which the number of laps completed on a buoy course was counted. However, the individual groups were then scored separately.
A total of 128 participants competed, most of them using windsurfing equipment (foil or fin). In the wing foil category, 17 men and 4 women took to the water.
At this “RRD One Hour Classic,” Luca Franchi won the overall wing foil classification, Amado Vrieswijk won the windsurf foil classification, and Matteo Iachino won the windsurf fin racer classification.
Among the U20 competitors, Sebastiano Zorzi won in wing foiling, Leonardo Tomasini in windsurf foiling, and Bart van den Bogaart in fin windsurfing; among the women, Marleen Fritz won in wing foiling, Katherine Tonge in foil windsurfing, and Anna Biagiolini on a standard windsurf board.
Additional results: while Rocco Sotomayor won the freestyle wing foil competition, windsurfer Bruno Martini won the combined fin & foil standings, and Sergio Veneziani secured the victory in the Windsurfer class.
