One Handed Tack

Ride a tack with just one hand on the boom

Tacking with one hand is not that difficult. The wing is guided to the inside of the turn with one hand as usual, but then the other hand does not follow. Simply move your hand back a little on the boom and you can steer the wing with one hand.

Modern wings float quite well, so you can let go briefly to move your hand. This is easiest with a boom wing, as your hand only needs to open slightly and slide back along the boom. You grab the wing at the point of pressure, giving you enough control to complete the tack.
