Wingfoil Helmet: Gath Eva
Extra protection for the forehead
Helmets from the Australian brand Gath are real classics in the world of water sports. The Gath Neo was added to the lineup in 1989 as a true surf helmet. Until then, most helmets in use had originated from other sports. The Gath Neo, which stands out visually thanks to its sleek design, is still available today. Depending on the size, the helmet weighs a light 360 to 390 grams.
In addition, Gath also offers models such as the Gath SFC, which provide extended protection for the ears and forehead.
As a compromise between the Gath SFC and the Gath Neo, the Gath Eva—with the look of a classic—provides more forehead protection than the Gath Neo. Instead of a relatively thin neoprene strip, the Gath Eva features thick padding that ensures impact energy is better absorbed, for example, when the forehead comes into contact with the mast. The Gath Eva weighs between 440 and 490 grams.
